TITLE
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $20,000 FROM PROJECT NO.
LT0223 – BATHHOUSE RENOVATION, TO PROJECT NO. LT1008 – ICE ARENA
CONCESSION EQUIPMENT
ISSUE
Should City Council authorize the transfer of funds in the amount of $20,000 from
Project No. LT0223 - Bathhouse Renovation, to Project No. LT1008 - Ice Arena
Concession Equipment to complete Project No. LT1008?
RECOMMENDATION
Approve of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
During the beginning of the Ice Arena concession renovation project, it was discovered
that the cast iron sewer pipe from the concession to the main sewer line was
deteriorated beyond use and needed to be replaced before the project could continue.
This unexpected expense was not included in the original project budget. City
Wastewater Department has scheduled to replace the existing sewer main on Grand
Avenue directly in front of the Pueblo Ice Arena as early as mid-October and has
agreed to pay for the replacement of the surface improvements as result of the Ice
Arena sewer line replacement. These funds requested for transfer will cover the
unexpected costs of routing the new sewer line from the Ice Arena back toward the
sidewalk, repair of interior electrical, plumbing for a new mop sink, minor asbestos
abatement from old floor tile, irrigation repair, landscape repairs, and replacement costs
associated with surface improvements on Grand Avenue.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
No financial impact. Both projects are funded with Conservation Trust funds (Lottery).
