CIAN20 – CITY BUILDING REPAIRS WHEREAS, in the summer of 2011, the City of Pueblo’s airport experienced extremely high winds, and; WHEREAS, said high winds caused significant damage to the Pueblo Weisbrod Museum Hangar No. 2 Roof; WHEREAS, the City has received proceeds from the insurance company for the costs to repair such damages; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Upon receipt, insurance proceeds in the amount of $32,880 shall be transferred into Capital Project No. CIAN20 – CITY BUILDING REPAIRS. SECTION 2. Should additional panels be determined to require replacement, additional funds will be requested of the insurance company to cover the additional repair work. SECTION 3. This Ordinance will become effective upon final passage. CIAN20 – CITY BUILDING REPAIRS ISSUE Should City Council authorize the use of funds up to the amount of $32,880 in insurance proceeds to repair wind damage to a portion of the Wesbrod Hangar No. 2 roof? RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Ordinance. BACKGROUND In the summer of 2011, a portion of the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum Hangar No. 2 roof was damaged by wind, due to defective construction by the contractor. The Contractors Insurance Company will pay the City’s claim in the amount of $32,880. This project will consist of the repair of a section (approximately 60’ x 80’) of the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum Hangar No. 2 roof. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds in the amount of $32,880 will be deposited into CIAN20 – City Building Repairs and will be used to repair the wind damage. Should additional panels be determined to require replacement, additional funds will be requested of the insurance company to cover the additional repair work.
