HomeMy WebLinkAbout08508ORDINANCE NO. 8508 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE THE SAME AND AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF GPS/AVL SYSTEM FOR TRANSIT BUSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Grant Agreement between the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the United States of America, Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration for the purpose of purchasing a GPS/AVL system for transit buses, the “Project,” a copy of which is attached hereto, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved. SECTION 2. The President of City Council is hereby authorized to execute said Grant Agreement on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the Seal of the City to the Grant Agreement and attest the same. SECTION 3. Funds in the amount of $100,972 are hereby appropriated for the Project including $80,777 in federal Grant funds and $20,195 in City’s 20% match funds. RECOMMENDATION Approval of Ordinance BACKGROUND Pueblo Transit has been allocated a Federal Capital Grant (5309) for FY 2010 funding in the amount of $80,777. These funds are intended to purchase a GPS/AVL system for buses FINANCIAL IMPACT The anticipated total project cost is $338,951. The Federal share for the FY 2010 capital grant agreement is $80,777 and the local match is $20,154.
