A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PUEBLO
TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE EL POMAR
FOUNDATION FOR FUNDING FOR MEMORIAL HALL
ENHANCEMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo is actively fund raising to construct enhancements
and bid alternates not selected in the construction contract for the Memorial Hall
Expansion and Renovation Project.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
A grant application requesting $100,000 from the El Pomar Foundation for the
Memorial Hall Expansion and Renovation Project, a copy of which is attached hereto, is
hereby approved.

ISSUE
Should the City Council authorize the submittal of a grant application to the El Pomar
Foundation relating to the Memorial Hall Enhancement Project?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
The base bid for the Memorial Hall Expansion and Renovation Project is within budget
and was awarded to HW Houston Construction Company. The City and the Memorial
Hall Stakeholders are raising funds in the amount of $400,000 to complete the original
design add alternates not in the contract including acoustical windows ($67,100),
exterior lighting ($229,000), decorative site furnishings, colored concrete patrons plaza
($75,400), historic interior lighting restoration, and accent lighting ($28,500). The
application to the El Pomar Foundation is in the amount of $100,000.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
No financial impact. City staff will be responsible for the required grant reporting.
