FLORCZAK TITLE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6-5-16 OF CHAPTER 5, OF TITLE VI OF THE PUEBLO MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE FY 2012 CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN TO INCLUDE A NEW POSITION OF LAW DEPARTMENT TECHNICIAN ISSUE Should City Council amend the 2012 Classification and Pay Plan by including a new position of Law Department Technician? RECOMMENDATION Approve the Ordinance. BACKGROUND In many of the departments within the City, there is a “Technician” classification. The Technician position is in the line of promotion of Clerk Typist. After a Clerk Typist has performed successfully for two (2) years, the employee is then upgraded to the Technician classification. To maintain operational consistency among other City departments, the position of Law Department Technician is being established. This Ordinance will set the pay scale for said position. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funding for the new position shall be from the Law Department budget, and will result in an impact for 2012 of $1276.
