The following individual is hereby appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals to complete the four-year term expiring June 30, 2014: Yvonne Lujan-Slak INTRODUCED: March 26, 2012 BY: Eva Montoya COUNCIL PERSON Background Paper for Proposed R ESOLUTION DATE: AGENDA ITEM # Q-3 MARCH 26, 2012 DEPARTMENT: CITY CLERK GINA DUTCHER, MMC TITLE A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS ISSUE Should City Council appoint one member to the Zoning Board of Appeals to complete a four-year term expiring June 30, 2014? RECOMMENDATION Approve the Resolution. BACKGROUND Due to the death of Board Member Ralph Scaplo, there is one vacancy to be filled on the Zoning Board of Appeals. This appointment will complete the four-year term expiring June 30, 2014. In response to Public Notices that were published in the Pueblo Chieftain on Sunday, January 22, 2012 and Sunday, February 12, 2012 and an announcement on the City Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, applications were received from the following individuals: Steve Anselmo, Resident of the City of Pueblo  Raymond D. Seybold, Resident of the City of Pueblo  Yvonne Lujan-Slak, Resident of the City of Pueblo  FINANCIAL IMPACT Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals receive as compensation $25.00 for each regular or special meeting actually attended. The Chairman of the Board receives as additional compensation, the sum of $50.00 per month for each month of service as Chairman. These monies are allocated in the Planning & Zoning Department’s annual budget.
