Dear Council members,
Colorado Association for Recycling (CAFR) is one of the leading organizations advancing recycling and
waste diversion in Colorado. We hope that the Pueblo City Council will sponsor the premier 2012
recycling conference, Summit for Recycling — "Recycling Makes Dollar$ and Sen$e," June 10 -12
2012 in Pueblo, Colorado. The Summit is an opportunity for all of those interested in recycling and
waste diversion to come together and share ideas, knowledge and skills. CAFR is thrilled to bring the
Summit to southern Colorado at the Pueblo Convention Center. This 3 -day event is designed to build
enthusiasm and interest in recycling, and hopes to promote Pueblo as the future recycling hub for the
region.
As a sponsor of the Summit, the City of Pueblo gains recognition for its commitment to creating jobs
and improving the local economy by supporting the recycling industry and advocating a healthy
environment for children and adults. A new feature of the Summit this year is the SoCO Recycling Rally
which will allow the Puebloans free single- stream recycling drop -off, Exhibit Hall tours, Recycled Art
Market, `Recycling is Magic' show, and complimentary refreshments. The Rally is planned for Sunday,
June 10 1:OOpm- 5:OOpm, for all conference attendees and southern Colorado residents.
Please take some time to consider a City sponsorship of the Summit for Recycling in 2012. The
sponsorship levels are Platinum, Gold, and Silver. We invite the City of Pueblo to join our existing
sponsors (page 2)'by making a commitment in the next few weeks.
Please contact us at (303) 525 -6432 or at enviromtch @gmail.com or Marjie Griek at
(303) 975 -6975 or email mgriek @cafr.org to discuss what level of support you can contribute this year.
Thank you for supporting the Colorado Association for Recycling!
