TITLE
AN ORDINANCE BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING THE AMOUNT OF $90,000 FROM
THE SEWER USER FUND RESERVE FOR THE PURCHASE OF A VAC-CON COMBINATION
SEWER CLEANING TRUCK FROM THE STORMWATER DEPARTMENT
ISSUE
Should City Council pass and approve the proposed Ordinance providing for the allocation of
$90,000 from the Sewer User Fund Reserve for the purchase of a Vac-Con combination truck
from the City’s Stormwater Department?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Ordinance.
BACKGROUND
The Pueblo Stormwater Department desires to transfer with reimbursement a 2004 Vac-Con
Combination Sewer Cleaning Truck currently in their possession and under-utilized. The truck
is newer, in better condition, and has more capability than the older jet-rodding trucks presently
in use by the Wastewater Department. Acquiring the truck will increase the Wastewater
Department’s efficiency by reducing vehicle down time and costs. Research into the prices of
used vehicles of this type indicates that $90,000 is a fair market value.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
A sum of $90,000 will be appropriated from the Wastewater Department’s Sewer User Fund
reserve and transferred to the Stormwater Department.
