HomeMy WebLinkAbout12303RESOLUTION NO. 12303 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A HAZARD ELIMINATION GRANT FOR THE INTERSECTION OF TROY AVENUE AND OAKSHIRE LANE AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS the Colorado Department of Transportation is currently soliciting proposals for Hazard Elimination Funds; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves the submittal of a grant application to the Colorado Department of Transportation for a Hazard Elimination Grant. The grant will fund the installation of a traffic signal at Troy Avenue and Oakshire Lane. SECTION 2. The President of the City Council is hereby authorized to execute and deliver the grant application in the name of the City, and the City Clerk is directed to attest same and affix the Seal of the City thereto. TITLE A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A HAZARD ELIMINATION GRANT FOR THE INTERSECTION OF TROY AVENUE AND OAKSHIRE LANE AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE SAME ISSUE Should the City Council approve the submittal of an application to the Colorado Department of Transportation for a Hazard Elimination Grant? RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND The Public Works Department is requesting permission to submit a Hazard Elimination Grant to the Colorado Department of Transportation in the amount of $400,000 for the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Troy Avenue and Oakshire Lane. FINANCIAL IMPACT The Hazard Elimination Grant requires a 20% local match in the amount of $80,000. Should the grant funds be awarded, the Department will request CDBG funds to provide local match. If CDBG funds are not available, the Department will transfer funds from project number CPAN21. There is no additional financial impact to the City as a result of this grant application.
