HomeMy WebLinkAbout12302RESOLUTION NO. 12302 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A HAZARD ELIMINATION GRANT FOR THE INTERSECTION OF LAKE AVENUE AND LAKEVIEW AVENUE (PROJECT DE0502) AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS the Colorado Department of Transportation is currently soliciting proposals for Hazard Elimination Funds; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1: The City Council hereby approves the submittal of a grant application to the Colorado Department of Transportation for a Hazard Elimination Grant. The grant provides additional funding toward the reconstruction of the intersection of Lake Avenue and Lakeview Avenue. SECTION 2. The President of the City Council is hereby authorized to execute and deliver the grant application in the name of the City, and the City Clerk is directed to attest same and affix the Seal of the City thereto. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND The Public Works Department is requesting permission to submit a Hazard Elimination Grant to the Colorado Department of Transportation in the amount of $250,000 for the reconstruction of the intersection Lake Avenue and Lakeview Avenue. FINANCIAL IMPACT The Hazard Elimination Grant requires a 20% local match in the amount of $50,000. The current project (DE0502) budget carries a balance of $205,626 which will be used to match the grant funds. There is no additional financial impact to the City as a result of this grant application.
