HomeMy WebLinkAbout08426ORDINANCE NO. 8426 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CITY OF PUEBLO DEPARTMENTAL AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL POSITIONS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2012 AND AMENDING THE 2012 BUDGET ORDINANCE WITH RESPECT TO THE ALLOCATION OF POSITIONS WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that the following staffing plan for the City Departments best meets the needs of the City; and WHEREAS, the City Financial Plan (Budget) provides for the funding for the positions as included in the staffing plan. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. This Ordinance shall be deemed to amend the Fiscal Year 2012 Budget with respect to the number and allocation of positions and shall become effective January 1, 2012. PACHECO HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR - MARISA WALKER TITLE AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CITY OF PUEBLO DEPARTMENTAL AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL POSITIONS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2012 AND AMENDING THE 2012 BUDGET ORDINANCE WITH RESPECT TO THE ALLOCATION OF POSITIONS ISSUE Should the City Council adopt the Staffing Ordinance for the fiscal year 2012? RECOMMENDATION The City Manager and the Human Resources Director recommend that this Ordinance be approved. BACKGROUND Authorized departmental staffing for 2012 includes the addition of: (1) Chief WWTP Operator, (1) WWTP Maintenance Mechanic, (1) WW Utility Worker IV, (1) HR Analyst (3) Fire Engineers, and (1) Traffic Signs/Marking Specialist. It also includes the elimination of: (1) Electrician, (2) Utility Worker/WRF Worker I/II, (1) Utility Worker/WW Utility Worker I/II/III, (3) Firefighters and (1) Utility Worker/Equip Operator I. This Ordinance amends the previously approved 2012 Budget Ordinance with respect to the allocation of positions by department. FINANCIAL IMPACT The positions authorized in this Ordinance have been funded in the 2012 budget.
