HomeMy WebLinkAbout12249RESOLUTION NO. 12249 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $314,635.45 TO SHISLER, INC., AND SETTING FORTH $40,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK, FOR PROJECT NO. 11-079 CITY PARK SHELTER PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 11-079 CITY PARK SHELTER PROJECT have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS, the proposal of Shisler, Inc. of Pueblo, Colorado, was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for PROJECT NO.11-079 CITY PARK SHELTER PROJECT is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $314,635.45. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR – CREIGHTON WRIGHT TITLE A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $314,635.45 TO SHISLER, INC., AND SETTING FORTH $40,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK, FOR PROJECT NO. 11-079 CITY PARK SHELTER PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME ISSUE Should City Council award a construction contract for the CITY PARK SHELTER PROJECT to Shisler Inc., for $314,635.45 RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND This project is located in City Park in the area between the kiddie rides and the existing playground, north of the zoo parking lot. The base bid includes removal and replacement of curb and gutter on the north side of the existing parking lot, removal of existing concrete sidewalk, construction of 4”, 6” and 8” thick concrete sidewalk, installation of one 50’ octagon shelter, four 12’ x 12’ shelters and breeze gravel. Add alternate bid items include installation of electrical conduits for future lighting of the shelters, construction of curb head border and breeze gravel, installation of swing sets with safety surface, picnic tables, benches and construction of 2’ wide colored concrete border. Attached is a bid summary showing the result of competitive bids on this project. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds for this project will be paid from Project Code PL1004– City Park Shelter Enhancement.
