A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT
IN THE AMOUNT OF $189,520.80 TO CONTRACT
MANAGEMENT, INC. (DBA US ROADS), AND SETTING FORTH
$19,000 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK FOR
PROJECT NO. 11-074 (CD0920, CD1007, AND CD1106)
ABRIENDO AVENUE AND BROADWAY AVENUE
STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS (CDBG) CONTINGENT
UPON CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTANCE OF FY 2011 CDBG
MONEY AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO
EXECUTE THE SAME
WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 11-074 (CD0920, CD1007, AND CD1106)
ABRIENDO AVENUE AND BROADWAY AVENUE STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS (CDBG)
have been received and examined, and;
WHEREAS, the proposal of CONTRACT MANAGEMENT, INC. (dba US ROADS), of
Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
A contract for PROJECT NO. 11-074 (CD0920, CD1007, AND CD1106) ABRIENDO
AVENUE AND BROADWAY AVENUE STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS (CDBG) is hereby
awarded to said bidder in the amount of $189,520.80.
SECTION 2.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City
of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and
attest the same.
SECTION 3.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount
as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work.
Contingencies and Additional Work . . . . $19,000
SECTION 4.
Funds for said project shall be from Project Code CD0920, CD1007, and CD1106.

Should City Council award a construction contract for PROJECT NO. 11-074 (CD0920,
CD1007, AND CD1106) ABRIENDO AVENUE AND BROADWAY AVENUE STREETSCAPE
IMPROVEMENTS to CONTRACT MANAGEMENT, INC (dba US ROADS)?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
This Project will construct streetscape improvements at the intersection of Abriendo Avenue and
Broadway Avenue. The improvements include construction of “bump out” curb ramps at the
southwest and southeast corners, curb ramps on the medians across from the corners, and a
curb ramp at the northeast corner. The existing drainage pan, curb and gutter, and sidewalk will
be removed and replaced on both sides of Broadway Avenue from Abriendo Avenue south to
the alley between Abriendo Avenue and Evans Avenue. Planter areas, colored concrete
borders, and salvaged flagstone borders will be constructed between the new curb and gutter
and sidewalks. The landscaping is not a part of this project and will be installed under a
separate contract.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for this Project will be paid from CD0920, CD1007, and CD1106.
