TITLE
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING LAKE AVENUE SEWER UPSIZE/URA PROJECT
(WW1103) AND AUTHORIZING A TRANSFER OF WASTEWATER FUNDS INTO THIS
PROJECT
ISSUE
Should the City Council authorize the establishment of a new project, Lake Avenue Sewer
Upsize/URA (WW1103), and authorize the transfer of $80,000 of wastewater funds from
Projects to be Determined (WW1199) to such project?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Ordinance.
BACKGROUND
The Urban Renewal Authority is performing the Lake Minnequa Urban Renewal project on Lake
Avenue. Part of that project entails upsizing and relocating a sanitary sewer main. Per the
Construction and Maintenance Agreement authorized by Ordinance #8295, the Wastewater
Department will fund the sewer main portion of the work. Therefore, this Ordinance
appropriates funds for the sewer main portion and creates a project for accounting purposes.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
In the 2011 budget, the Wastewater Department budgeted $1,300,000 in Projects to be
Determined (WW1199). A portion of this, $80,000, will be transferred to project WW1103 for the
sewer main portion of the Lake Avenue streetscape project.
