A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PLANNING
AND ZONING COMMISSION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission:
For the four-year terms expiring July 1, 2015:
Ralph Scaplo
Raymond D. Seybold
To complete the four-year term expiring July 1, 2014:
England Porter

A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
ISSUE
Should City Council appoint two members to the Planning and Zoning Commission for four-year
terms expiring July 1, 2015, and one member to complete the four-year term expiring July 1,
2014, vacated due to the resignation of Commissioner Rod Johnson?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the Resolution
BACKGROUND
Due to the term expirations of Incumbent Commissioners Jean Latka and Charles Pelto and the
resignation of Commissioner Rod Johnson, there are three terms to be filled on the Planning
and Zoning Commission. Two appointments are for four-year terms expiring July 1, 2015 and
one appointment will complete the four-year term expiring July 1, 2014.
Commissioner Latka has indicated she does wish to be considered for reappointment. She was
first appointed to this committee in 2003.
Commissioner Pelto has indicated he does not wish to be considered for reappointment.
Following advertisements published in the Pueblo Chieftain on Sunday, April 17, 2011, and
Sunday, May 8, 2011, and an announcement on the City Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to
serve on this committee, applications were received from the following individuals:
Michael J. Kelly (NEW), Resident of the City of Pueblo
Raymond D. Seybold (NEW), Resident of the City of Pueblo
Ralph Scaplo (NEW), Resident of the City of Pueblo
England Porter (NEW), Resident of the City of Pueblo
Jean Latka (INCUMBENT), Resident of the City of Pueblo
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Board Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission receive as compensation the sum of
twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each regular or special meeting actually attended. The
Chairman of the Board receives as additional compensation the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) per
month for each month of service as Chairman. These monies are part of the Planning and
Community Development Department’s annual budget.
