HomeMy WebLinkAbout12168RESOLUTION NO. 12168 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING $5,000 FROM THE CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2011 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO BE PAID TO THE GREATER PUEBLO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR THE JOPLIN BUSINESS RECOVERY FUND BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The transfer of $5,000 from the Contingencies Account in the 2011 General Fund budget is hereby approved. SECTION 2. Said funds shall be disbursed from the Contingencies Account to the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce to support the efforts of the Joplin Business Recovery Fund in Joplin, Missouri. BACKGROUND The recent tornado in Joplin, Missouri shocked the world, but knowing it impacted local residents saddened the hearts of City Council. In an effort to support the businesses of Joplin, Missouri, the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce established the Joplin Business Recovery Fund. The Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce has requested a $5,000 donation be sent to this fund. RECOMMENDATION This Resolution is at the request of City Council President Ray Aguilera. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds in the amount of $5,000 from the Contingencies Account in the 2011 General Fund Budget will be transferred.
