A RESOLUTION REMOVING A MEMBER FROM THE
HONOR FARM ENTERPRISE CITIZENS ADVISORY
BOARD, DECLARING A VACANCY AND APPOINTING A
NEW MEMBER THERETO
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-5 of the Charter of the City of Pueblo, unless
otherwise required by law, all boards and commissions shall be appointed by Council
for terms specified by Council and members of such boards are subjected to removal by
Council; and
WHEREAS, under and by virtue of Resolution No. 2644 of the City Council,
passed and approved on August 24, 1970, Council provided that if any member of an
appointed board shall absent himself from three consecutive regular meetings of the
board, such office is automatically declared vacant; and
WHEREAS, on June 14, 2010, City Council appointed Michael Ostrander to the
Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board to complete a three-year term expiring
on August 1, 2012, subject to removal as herein above provided; and
WHEREAS, City Council finds and concludes that Michael Ostrander has
absented himself from duly called and noticed consecutive meetings of the Honor Farm
Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board held on February 22, 2011, March 22, 2011 and
April 26, 2011 without excuse;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
SECTION 1.
Pursuant to Section 2-5 of the Charter, Michael Ostrander is hereby removed as
a member of the Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board, and said office is
declared vacant.
SECTION 2.
The following individual is hereby appointed to the Honor Farm Enterprise
Citizens Advisory Board to fill the vacancy created by the removal of Michael Ostrander
for the remainder of the term expiring August 1, 2012.

This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.

Should City Council remove Michael Ostrander from the Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens
Advisory Board, declare a vacancy and appoint a new member to complete the three-
year term expiring on August 1, 2012?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the Resolution
BACKGROUND
On June 14, 2010, City Council appointed Michael Ostrander to the Honor Farm
Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board to complete the three-year term expiring on August
1, 2012, subject to removal as provided by Resolution No. 2644 of the City Council,
passed and approved August 24, 1970.
Michael Ostrander has absented himself from duly called and noticed consecutive
meetings of the Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board held on February 22,
2011, March 22, 2011 and April 26, 2011 without excuse.
Following advertisements published in The Pueblo Chieftain on May 1, 2011 and on the
City Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, applications were
received from the following individuals:
James B. Sears, Resident of the City of Pueblo
Robert J. Hall, Resident of Unincorporated Pueblo County
FINANCIAL IMPACT
This is a volunteer committee, and members serve without compensation.
