RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution. BACKGROUND On November 23, 2009, the City of Pueblo entered into a contract for Technical Energy Audit and Project Proposal with Johnson Controls. The contract consisted of two phases. Johnson Controls has completed the initial evaluation phase, which consisted of an audit that determined the feasibility and cost of implementing energy and water saving measures for the City. The second phase is the implementation of the energy and water saving measures identified in the evaluation through an Energy Performance Contract. The second phase is now being split into two contracts. The contract currently before the Council is the first contract of this second phase, which is to be paid for with funding from the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant. The grant requires that the project to be undertaken be severable and not dependent on other funding. This project will consist of energy efficiency improvements to several City owned buildings. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funding for this Phase I contract in the amount of $388,934 is available in the 240 Fund in activity AREE08 – Greening Public Buildings.
