CP0912 – PARK AREA – PARK WEST FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE MINERAL PALACE RESTROOM PROJECT WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $73,500 are presently budgeted for the City Park Chlorination Project which will be not be started nor completed in 2011; and WHEREAS, the City has already purchased one prefab restroom for Mineral Palace Park and will be purchasing a second which will be installed in City Park; and BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Capital Project No. CP1113 – Prefab Restroom #2 is hereby created and funds are transferred from Capital Project No. CP1007 – City Park Pool Chlorination in the amount of $58,500. SECTION 2. Funds in the amount of $15,000 shall be transferred from Capital Project No. CP1007 into Capital Project No. CP0912 – Park Area – Park West for the completion of the Mineral Palace Restroom project. CP0912 – PARK AREA – PARK WEST FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE MINERAL PALACE RESTROOM PROJECT ISSUE Should City Council establish a capital project to purchase a second prefab restroom for City Park and authorize the transfer of funds from Capital Project No. CP1007 – City Park Pool Chlorination to fund said project and complete Capital Project No. CP0912 – Park Area – Park West for the implementation of Mineral Palace Park Restroom project? RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND In 2009, while under the management and operation of the Pueblo YMCA, it was recommended by the YMCA that the four City swimming pools existing chlorination system be converted to a tablet-form chlorination system. There is currently $73,500 budgeted for the City Park Pool Chlorination Project; however, this project will not be started nor completed in 2011. This past year, the City purchased a prefab restroom building from the Town of Larkspur which is currently being installed at Mineral Palace Park. The Town of Larkspur has a second prefab restroom building that the City would like to purchase and install at another city park, perhaps in City Park near the Dog Park and fields #3 and #4 to serve the patrons utilizing the west end of City Park. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds in the amount of $15,000 will be transferred from Capital Project No. CP1007 – City Park Pool Chlorination into Capital Project No. CP0912 – Park Area – Park West for the completion of the Mineral Palace Park restroom project. The remaining $58,500 from CP1007 would be used for Capital Project No. CP1113 – Prefab Restroom #2 Project for City Park.
