HomeMy WebLinkAbout12125RESOLUTION NO. 12125 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $449,800 TO THE COPESTONE COMPANY AND SETTING FORTH $89,960 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR THE FY2011 TENANT FINISH FOR THE OLD ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AT THE JAMES R. DIIORIO WATER RECLAMATION FACILITY AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, competitive bids for the Project No. 11-042 (WW0906 and WW1004) FY2011 Tenant Finish for the Old Administration Building – Water Reclamation Facility have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS the proposal of The Copestone Company of Colorado Springs, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsive; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract to improve the interior and mechanics of the Old Administration Building at the James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility as specified in the drawings, Contract Agreement for the FY2011 Tenant Finish for the Old Administration Building at the James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility with The Copesonte Company, Project No. 11-042 (WW0906 and WW1004) is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $449,800. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility? RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND On April 15, 2011 the City received six (6) proposals from contractors responding to a Request for Proposal for the FY2011 Tenant Finish for the Old Administration Building at the James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility. The Copestone Company was determined most responsive and has been chosen for this project. A bid summary sheet is attached. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds have been budgeted and appropriated from the Sewer User Fund reserve as Project No. 11-042 (WW0906 and WW1004)
