HomeMy WebLinkAbout08325ORDINANCE NO. 8325 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2011 STAFFING ORDINANCE REVISING POSITIONS WITHIN THE WASTEWATER DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, it is necessary to revise the positions for the ultimate efficiency and functionality for the Wastewater Department NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: (brackets indicate matter being deleted, underscore indicates matter being added) SECTION 1. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the ordinance. BACKGROUND The Wastewater Department requests to adjust its staffing to hire an additional Associate Engineer II-WW position. The addition of this position will provide the following needs. 1. Design Wastewater rehabilitation projects and sanitary sewer liftstations. 2. Provide electrical and mechanical support for the maintenance requirements of Water Reclamation Facility operations. 3. Assist consulting firms in construction at the Water Reclamation Facility, eliminating a need for consulting inspectors. 4. Perform capacity studies for the Wastewater Department. 5. Assist in the inspection of current ammonia removal projects. 6. Prepare design specifications for replacement equipment at the Water Reclamation Facility. FINANCIAL IMPACT Wastewater Department’s financial impact is an estimated annual salary and benefits expense increase of $71,121.41. Funds for the additional salary and benefits are available from the Sewer User Fund.
