A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT
IN THE AMOUNT OF $156,627 TO SHISLER, INC., AND
SETTING FORTH $23,300 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND
ADDITIONAL WORK, FOR PROJECT NO. 11-040 (CP0917)
STATE HWY 78 TRAIL REPLACEMENT AND AUTHORIZING
THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME

WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO.
REPLACEMENT
have been received and examined, and;
SHISLER, INC
WHEREAS, the proposal of ., of Pueblo, Colorado, was the lowest of
those bids determined to be responsible;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
A contract for PROJECT NO. 11-040 (CP0917) STATE HWY 78 TRAIL
REPLACEMENT is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $155,106.74.
SECTION 2.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo,
A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the
same.
SECTION 3.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount
as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work.
Contingencies and Additional Work . . . . $24,800
SECTION 4.
Funds for said project shall be from Project Code CP0917 – Roncalli Trail.

Should City Council award a construction contract for the STATE HWY 78 TRAIL
REPLACEMENT to SHISLER, INC for $156,627?

RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution
BACKGROUND
This project will remove and replace approximately 3,650 lineal feet of deteriorated
asphalt trail which is located on the southerly side of State Highway 78. The
construction of the new trail will begin at the east property line of the Roncalli School
property and continue westerly to the east side of Encino Drive. The asphalt trail will be
replaced with an 8-foot wide, 6-inch thick concrete trail. A.D.A. curb ramps will be
constructed where the trail intersects public roadways.
Attached is a bid summary showing the result of competitive bids on this project.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for this project will be paid from Project Code CP0917 – Roncalli Trail.
