A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT
IN THE AMOUNT OF $335,700 TO GENOVA CONSTRUCTION,
INC. AND SETTING FORTH $67,140 FOR CONTINGENCIES,
FOR THE FY2010 UTILITY, SITE & SHELL IMPROVEMENTS,
OLD ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AT THE JAMES R. DIIORIO
WATER RECLAMATION FACILITY AND AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME
WHEREAS, competitive bids for the Project No. 10-104 (WW1005) FY2010 Utility, Site
& Shell Improvements, Old Administration Building – Water Reclamation Facility have been
received and examined, and;
WHEREAS the proposal of Genova Construction, Inc. of Pueblo, CO was the lowest of
those bids determined to be responsive;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
A contract to improve the utilities, site and exterior of the Old Administration Building at
the James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility as specified in the drawings, Contract
Agreement for the FY2010 Utility, Site & Shell Improvements, Old Administration Building at the
James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility with Genova Construction, Inc. (Project No. 10-104
(WW1005) be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $335,700.
SECTION 2.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo,
A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the
same.
SECTION 3.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount
as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work.

ISSUE
Should the City Council award a construction contract in the amount of $335,700 to Genova
Construction, Inc. for the FY2010 Utility, Site & Shell Improvements, Old Administration Building
at the James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
On December 22, 2010 the City received nine (9) proposals from contractors responding to a
Request for Proposal for the FY2010 Utility, Site & Shell Improvements, Old Administration
Building at the James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility. Genova Construction, Inc. was
determined most responsive and has been chosen for this project. A bid summary sheet is
attached.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds have been budgeted and appropriated from the Sewer User Fund reserve as Project No.
10-104 (WW1005).
