HomeMy WebLinkAbout12048 RESOLUTION NO. 12048 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE SANGRE DE CRISTO ARTS AND CONFERENCE CENTER BOARD OF TRUSTEES BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees for three-year terms expiring December 31, 2013: ELIZABETH GALLEGOS YVETTE FRANSUA JEANETTE AUTOBEE GARCIA VACANT INTRODUCED: December 27, 2010 BY: Judy Weaver COUNCILPERSON Background Paper for Proposed RESOLUTION # M-11 DATE: DECEMBER 27, 2010 AGENDA ITEM DEPARTMENT: CITY CLERK GINA DUTCHER, MMC TITLE A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE SANGRE DE CRISTO ARTS AND CONFERENCE CENTER BOARD OF TRUSTEES ISSUE Should City Council appoint members to the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees for three-year terms expiring December 31, 2013? RECOMMENDATION Approve the Resolution. BACKGROUND Due to term expirations of Incumbent Board Members Elizabeth Gallegos, B. J. McNamara, Yvette Fransua and Jeanette Autobee Garcia, there are four appointments for three-year terms expiring December 31, 2013. Elizabeth Gallegos, Yvette Fransua and Jeanette Autobee Garcia have indicated they DO wish to be considered for reappointment. B. J. McNamara DOES NOT wish to be considered for reappointment. Elizabeth Gallegos was first appointed to this Board in December 2007; Yvette Fransua was appointed in December 2009, to complete the term vacated due to the resignation of Manuel Calderon; and Jeanette Autobee Garcia was appointed in February 2010, to complete the term vacated due to the resignation of Chris Kaufman. Following Public Notices published in the Pueblo Chieftain on September 26, 2010 and November 21, 2010, an announcement in the Local Briefs Section of the Pueblo Chieftain on October 31, 2010 and an announcement on the City Clerk’s web page, seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, NO new applications were received; therefore, there will remain one vacancy to be filled at a later date. FINANCIAL IMPACT This is a volunteer committee, and members serve without compensation.
