HomeMy WebLinkAbout08266ORDINANCE NO. 8266 AN ORDINANCE CHANGING ZONING RESTRICTIONS FOR 16.2 ACRES OF LAND GENERALLY LOCATED NORTH OF RIDGE DRIVE AND SOUTH OF WILLS BOULEVARD FROM R-5, MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL AND OFFICE DISTRICT TO B-3, HIGHWAY ARTERIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The zoning restrictions covering 16.2 acres of land located north of Ridge Drive and south of Wills Boulevard be changed from R-5, Multiple Residential and Office District to B-3, Highway Arterial Business District, and upon passage of this Ordinance, zoning restrictions affecting B-3, Highway Arterial Business District, shall apply to said property as follows: Lot 1, Block 2, Skyview Subdivision. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. RECOMMENDATION The Planning and Zoning Commission, at their August 11, 2010 Regular Meeting voted 5-0 to recommend approval. BACKGROUND The applicant is requesting to rezone Lot 1, Block 2, Skyview Subdivision to a B-3, Highway Arterial Zone District to facilitate commercial development of the site. The site was zoned R-5, Multiple Residential and Office in 1980 to facilitate the construction of a church, related facilities and open space for stormwater detention (Z-80-20). The church and open space were never developed and the land remains vacant. FINANCIAL IMPACT None.
