HomeMy WebLinkAbout11974 RESOLUTION NO. 11974 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $187,000.00 TO K.R. SWERDFEGER CONSTRUCTION, INC., AND SETTING FORTH $37,400.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES, FOR THE FY2010 PORTLAND LIFTSTATION REPLACEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, competitive bids for the Project No. 10-036 Portland Lift Station Replacement have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS the proposal of K.R. Swerdfeger Construction, Inc. of Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsive; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract to replace the inner workings of the Portland Lift Station specified in the drawings, Contract Agreement for Pump Station Rehabilitation with K.R. Swerdfeger Construction, Inc. (Project No. 10-036; WW1002) be, and the same is hereby awarded to said $187,000.00 bidder in the amount of . SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. Contingencies and Additional Work………$37,400.00 SECTION 4. as well as a State and Funds for said project shall be from the Sewer User Fund Tribal Assistance Grant (STAG Grant). Swerdfeger Construction, Inc., for the FY2010 Portland Lift Station Replacement Project? RECOMMENDATION Approve this Resolution. BACKGROUND The City of Pueblo’s Wastewater Department maintains several pump stations throughout the City that generate pressure for the sanitary sewer force mains. The stations are more than 15 years in age and are beginning to show signs of wear. The Portland Lift Station has been chosen for this project. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funding for this project will be taken from the Sewer User Fund as well as a Federal State and Tribal Assistance Grant (STAG Grant). Funding is available and was appropriated in the 2010 budget.
