HomeMy WebLinkAbout11953RESOLUTION NO. 11953 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $262,000 TO ACORN CONSTRUCTION, AND SETTING FORTH $26,200 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK, FOR PROJECT NO. 10-062 SINGLE-FAMILY PROJECT A AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 10-062 Single-Family Project A have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS, the proposal of Acorn Construction, of Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for PROJECT NO. 10-062 Single-Family Project A be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $262,000. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution BACKGROUND This project will consist of the reconstruction of two single-family homes at 2039 E. 8 Street and 1706 E. 12 Street. These properties were purchased under the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) and this is part of the commitment of our NSP grant in the amount of $1.04 million for single- family purchases. Expenditures have already been made for pre-contract costs, purchase and maintenance of the property. HOME Investment Partnership Act Grant funds will also be used in this project to complete the construction. The homes will be sold to eligible homebuyers that meet the requirements of the grant. FINANCIAL IMPACT The NSP grant was previously appropriated and a project account has been set-up for these properties. HES005- 2039 E. 8 St.- $120,000 HES003 – 1706 E. 12 St. - $120,000 The HOME Investment Partnership Act grant was previously appropriated for said purposes.
