ALEXANDER AS MUNICIPAL JUDGE FOR A TWO-YEAR TERM EXPIRING OCTOBER 26, 2012 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. William D. Alexander is hereby appointed as the Municipal Judge of the Pueblo Municipal Court for a term of two years from October 27, 2010 to October 26, 2012 and is hereby designated as the presiding judge of the Municipal Court. He shall act as Municipal Court Administrator and shall supervise all Municipal Court personnel. He shall receive compensation determined and fixed by the City Council. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective upon final passage and approval. ALEXANDER AS MUNICIPAL JUDGE FOR A TWO-YEAR TERM EXPIRING OCTOBER 26, 2012 ISSUE Should the City Council appoint presiding judge, William D. Alexander, to a two-year term expiring in 2012? BACKGROUND City Council, as stipulated by the City Charter, is authorized to appoint municipal judges for terms of two years. The term of the presiding Judge, William D. Alexander, expires October 27, 2010, and he has requested reappointment for another two-year term as municipal judge for the City of Pueblo. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution. FINANCIAL IMPACT The presiding judge will receive a salary and related benefits as determined and fixed by the City Council. These amounts will be incorporated in the annual budget.
