HomeMy WebLinkAbout08214ORDINANCE NO. 8214 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE 2010 APPROPRIATION TO THE HARP AUTHORITY AND BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING THE AMOUNT OF $43,067 FROM THE HARP LAND SALES FUND THEREFOR WHEREAS, the HARP Authority has requested additional funds to pay for expenses incurred during 2010 for the construction of electrical infrastructure along certain public streets and areas on HARP Public Land, as defined by the Restated Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo (HARP) Authority Intergovernmental Agreement, and Gateway Park. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1: The amount of $43,067 is hereby budgeted and appropriated from the fund balance of the HARP Land Sales fund for payment to the HARP Authority. SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon final passage and approval. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Ordinance. BACKGROUND Black Hills Energy is requiring the installation of permanent electrical infrastructure, in accordance with the Pueblo Electrical Code, along and on both sides of Grand Avenue east of Central Main Street, Central Main Street from Grand Avenue south to the HARP bridge, at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Central Main Street, and on HARP in the vicinity of Gateway Park and the HARP Confluence. This electrical infrastructure is required to support community events held by HARP and other community organizations. The cost of these improvements is $41,016 with an additional five percent (5%), $2051, to be held in contingency. The HARP Authority is paying for this improvement and is requesting reimbursement with funds from the HARP land sale fund. FINANCIAL IMPACT The amount of $43,067 will be taken from the fund balance of the HARP Land Sales fund.
