AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 11-1-607 OF
ARTICLE VI OF CHAPTER 1, TITLE XI OF THE PUEBLO
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO REGULATIONS
CONCERNING NOISE AND EXEMPTION OF
AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY VEHICLES THEREFROM
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNIL OF PUEBLO, that: (brackets indicate
matter being deleted, underscoring indicates matter being added)
SECTION 1.
Section 11-1-607 of Article VI of Chapter 1, Title XI, of the Pueblo Municipal
Code, as amended, is hereby amended by the addition of a new subsection (g) to read
as follows:
Section 11-1-607. Noise.
. . . . .
“(g) The provisions of this section shall have no applicability to authorized
emergency vehicles, as defined in the Model Traffic Code for Colorado Municipalities,
as adopted and amended by Title XV of the Pueblo Municipal Code, as amended, nor to
sound produced by any sirens or horns on such vehicles or other noise emanating from
such vehicles.”
SECTION 2
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval.

ISSUE
Should the City Council amend Section 11-1-607 of the Pueblo Municipal Code relating
to the exemption of authorized emergency vehicles from the City’s noise limitations?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Ordinance.
BACKGROUND
This amendment would add a new subsection “(g)” to the City’s noise ordinance
exempting authorized emergency vehicles from the limitations of the ordinance.

None.
