HomeMy WebLinkAbout11920RESOLUTION NO. 11920 A RESOLUTION REMOVING A MEMBER FROM THE HONOR FARM ENTERPRISE CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD, DECLARING A VACANCY AND APPOINTING NEW MEMBERS THERETO WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-5 of the Charter of the City of Pueblo, unless otherwise required by law, all boards and commissions shall be appointed by Council for terms specified by Council and members of such boards are subjected to removal by Council; and WHEREAS, City Council appointed Shawn Lindley to the Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board on May 10, 2010, to complete a two-year term expiring August 1, 2011, subject to removal as herein above provided; and WHEREAS, City Council finds and concludes that pursuant to Chapter 9 of the Code of Ethics, Shawn Lindley has a conflict of interest concerning his duties as a Board Member on the Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board; and WHEREAS, Board Member Ely Pacheco has resigned from the Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board, creating a vacancy for a three-year term expiring August 1, 2012; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1. The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board to fill the vacancies created by the removal of Shawn Lindley and the resignation of Ely Pacheco. For completion of the two-year term expiring August 1, 2011: Bob Neumeister For completion of the three-year term expiring August 1, 2012: Michael Ostrander SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption. BACKGROUND City Council appointed Shawn Lindley to the Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board on May 10, 2010, to complete a two-year term expiring August 1, 2011. Following this appointment, it was determined that Mr. Lindley had a conflict of interest concerning his duties as a Board Member, and it would be necessary to remove him from the Board. Due to the resignation of Ely Pacheco, there is an additional vacancy on the Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board. This appointment will complete a three-year term expiring August 1, 2012. Following an advertisement published in the Pueblo Chieftain on Sunday, May 23, 2010, seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, applications were received from the following individuals: Delmar A. Milne – Resident of the City of Pueblo Bob Neumeister – Resident of the City of Pueblo Michael Ostrander – Resident of the City of Pueblo RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution. FINANCIAL IMPACT This is a volunteer board, and members serve without compensation.
