A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
ISSUE
Should City Council appoint a member to the Zoning Board of Appeals to serve a four-
year term expiring June 30, 2014?
RECOMMENDATION
Approve Resolution
BACKGROUND
Due to the term expiration of Incumbent Board Member Charles Pelto, there is one
appointment to be filled on the Zoning Board of Appeals. Mr. Pelto has indicated that he
does wish to be considered for reappointment. He was first appointed to this board in
2006.
Following an advertisement published in the Pueblo Chieftain on Sunday, May 16,
2010, seeking volunteers for this appointment, an application was received from Weston
Burrer.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals receive compensation of $25.00 for each
regular or special meeting actually attended. The Chairman of the Board receives as
additional compensation, the sum of $50.00 per month for each month of service as
Chairman. These monies are allocated in the Planning & Zoning Department’s annual
budget.
