ISSUE
Should the City Council approve an agreement in the amount of $12,986.23 to Western
Cleanup Corporation for the Fuel Tank Removal at the James R. DiIorio Water
Reclamation Facility?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution
BACKGROUND
The James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility houses a diesel fuel pumping station
to service the vehicles on the premises. The current station and accompanying
underground storage tank (UST) are nearing the end of their useful design life. The
UST was recently replaced with a newer more efficient above ground storage tank
(AST). The Wastewater Department installed a new AST to be more environmentally
responsible and to replace the current UST. The UST must be removed to prevent
potential future environmental liability.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds have been budgeted and appropriated from the Sewer User Fund for this project
(Project No. 10-046; WWAN04).
