CHARLES INDUSTRIAL PARK GREENHORN DRIVE EXTENSION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: The President of the City Council is hereby authorized to execute and deliver an application for federal assistance to the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA), in the amount of $2,500,000 to fund the construction of a portion of the St. Charles Industrial Park Greenhorn Drive Extension. RECOMMENDATION Approve the Resolution. BACKGROUND This grant request is for $2,500,000 to the Office of the Economic Development Administration to fund a portion of the construction of the St. Charles Industrial Park Greenhorn Drive Extension. The Greenhorn Drive Extension grant funds will assist in the construction of Greenhorn Drive from Lime Road north a distance of approximately 1.45 miles. This road will allow Vestas and future companies who locate in the industrial park to have direct access to the Stem Beach interchange of Interstate 25. The roadway will be constructed with two lanes, a paved shoulder and drainage swales on each side of the roadway. The estimated budget is $5,000,000. The successful award of this grant will allow the City to begin the construction in the fall of 2010.
