HomeMy WebLinkAbout11654RESOLUTION NO. 11654 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE HONOR FARM ENTERPRISE CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD FOR THE CITY OF PUEBLO BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO. that: SECTION 1. There is hereby established and created the Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board (the 'Board ") as an advisory board to the City Council and Department of Parks and Recreation. The Board shall consist of seven (7) members to serve without compensation. The City Council shall appoint the members of the Board. Members shall be appointed for terms of four (4) years provided that members initially shall be appointed for staggered terms. The Board shall select its own officers and may adopt bylaws not inconsistent with this Resolution. SECTION 2: The functions of the Board shall be as follows: a. Investigate, evaluate, and recommend programs to the Department of Parks and Recreation for the Honor Farm Enterprise, including the Pueblo Motorsports Park; and b. Make periodic reports with respect to its activities to the City Council. SECTION 3: The Board shall not have regular staff or budget but may request administrative assistance from the City Manager. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution. BACKGROUND On May 11, 2009 City Council passed and approved Resolution No. 11615, which directed City Administration to establish the Honor Farm Enterprise as a self- sustaining Enterprise of the City and to create a Citizens Advisory Board to advise the City in the management and operation of the Honor Farm Enterprise. This Resolution establishes the Honor Farm Enterprise Citizens Advisory Board, consisting of seven members to serve four -year terms with initial staggered terms. City Council will appoint members by resolution at a future date. FINANCIAL IMPACT This is a volunteer Board and all members will serve without compensation.
