SECTION 2 Said funds shall be disbursed from the Out of Cycle Requests Fund to fund the 2009 Insulate Colorado Program Homeowner Outreach and Contractor Support Program for Pueblo County. ISSUE Should City Council appropriate $2,500 to fund the 2009 Insulate Colorado Program Homeowner Outreach and Contractor Support Program as a joint effort by the City of Pueblo and Pueblo County. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution. BACKGROUND The 2009 Insulate Colorado Program Homeowner Outreach and Contractor Support Program matching grant application with the City of Pueblo and Pueblo County was approved by the Governor's Energy Office. The total amount of grant funding is $5,000 with the City of Pueblo and Pueblo County's contribution being $2,500 each. The program will assist homeowners to have an insulation contractor insulate their homes to a determined performing R -value in either the home's attic or exterior walls as well as air -seal all appropriate areas. This partnership is a result of a request from the City Council in mid -2008. The funding by the State was approved in 2009. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds in the amount of $2,500 will be paid from the Out of Cycle Requests Account in the 2009 General Fund Budget.
