HomeMy WebLinkAbout11615RESOLUTION NO. 11615 A RESOLUTION DIRECTING CITY ADMINISTRATION TO ESTABLISH THE HONOR FARM PROPERTIES INCLUDING PUEBLO MOTORSPORTS PARK AS A SELF - SUSTAINING ENTERPRISE OF THE CITY AND CREATE A CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD THEREFOR WHEREAS, the City owns portions of the property commonly known as the Honor Farm and City Council has adopted the City of Pueblo Honor Farm Open Space and Park Management Plan therefor, and WHEREAS, it is the intent of the City Council that the Honor Farm including the Pueblo Motorsports Park be self- sustaining. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SFrTinN 1 City administration is hereby directed to (a) establish the Honor Farm properties owned by the City including the Pueblo Motorsports Park as a self- sustaining enterprise of the City, and (b) establish a citizens' advisory board to advise the City in the management and operation of the Honor Farm. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective upon final approval and adoption. BARRETT, INTERIM DEPUTY CITY MANAGER TITLE A RESOLUTION DIRECTING CITY ADMINISTRATION TO ESTABLISH THE HONOR FARM PROPERTIES INCLUDING PUEBLO MOTORSPORTS PARK AS A SELF - SUSTAINING ENTERPRISE OF THE CITY AND CREATE A CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD THEREFOR ISSUE Should the City Council direct City Administration to establish the Honor Farm Properties as an enterprise of the City and create a Citizens' Advisory Board? RECOMMENDATION Resolution is at the recommendation of Council President Ortegon BACKGROUND City Council Members have suggested that the Honor Farm Properties including the Pueblo Motorsports Park become a self- sustaining Enterprise of the City of Pueblo. With this Resolution, Council directs City Administration to create an Enterprise of the City of Pueblo for the Honor Farm properties. In addition, Council directs City Administration to establish a Citizens' Advisory Board for the Enterprise to assist Council in managing and operating the Enterprise and in evaluating, promoting, and recommending programs, activities, and uses for the Honor Farm Properties in order to generate funds for the operation of the Enterprise. The number of members, terms, and duties of the Board will also be determined. FINANCIAL IMPACT None.
