A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AN
ICE ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:

There is hereby established and created the Pueblo Plaza Ice Arena Advisory
Committee (the "Committee ") as an advisory committee to the City Council. The
Committee shall consist of five (5) members to serve without compensation. The City
Council shall appoint the members of the Committee. Members shall be appointed for
terms of three (3) years provided that members initially will be appointed for staggered
terms. The Committee shall select its own officers and may adopt bylaws not
inconsistent with this Resolution.
SECTION 2.
Functions of the Committee shall be as follows:
a) Make recommendations on the scheduling of the ice arena, facility mission,
needed capital improvements and recommend cost recovery goals for the facility,
and
b) Make periodic reports with respect to the Pueblo Plaza Ice Arena to the City
Council.

A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AN ICE ARENA ADVISORY COMMITTEE
ISSUE
Should the City Council establish a new advisory committee to provide
recommendations to City Council regarding the operation and scheduling of the Pueblo
Plaza Ice Arena?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
A recommendation included within the GreenPlay Parks and Recreation Assessment
and Implementation Plan is to establish an Ice Arena Advisory Board to assist
management in the development of schedules, the facility mission, and cost recovery
goals.
All members of the Committee shall be appointed by the City Council and shall be
subject to removal by the City Council. The Committee shall have the authority to elect
its own officers and adopt its own bylaws. Meetings of the Committee shall be open to
the public and adequate notice thereof shall be given to its members. The Committee
shall be composed of five members to serve staggered three -year terms. Initial terms
shall be as follows: Three terms shall expire June 1, 2012, and two terms shall expire
June 1, 2011, all terms thereafter shall be three -year terms.
The Parks and Recreation Department will be the coordinating department for the Ice
Arena Advisory Committee.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The members appointed to the Ice Arena Advisory Committee will serve without
compensation.
