CPAN17 — GRANT MATCHES (LOTTERY) FUND FOR THE REPAIR OF THE MINERAL PALACE PARK POOL WHEREAS, the Mineral Palace Park Pool ( "Pool') is owned by the City of Pueblo, and; WHEREAS, the Pool utilizes a filter water supply system that is corroded and leaking excessively, and; WHEREAS, it is necessary to repair the leaks to prevent additional damage to the pool and to reduce water use, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. An Engineer's estimate in the approximate amount of $30,000 has been prepared for the cost of the repair work to pool. SECTION 2. $30,000 is hereby transferred from Project No. CPAN17 Grant Matches (Lottery) Fund to Project No. CP0909 — Mineral Palace Park Pool Repair. SECTION 3. The Parks Department, with assistance from the Public Works — Engineering, Streets, and Public Buildings Divisions, will be performing the majority the work with the exception of the concrete deck replacement. The Public Works Department will be soliciting competitive bids from local contractors to perform this portion of the repair work. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective upon final passage and approval. CPAN17 — GRANT MATCHES (LOTTERY) FUND FOR THE REPAIR OF THE MINERAL PALACE PARK POOL ISSUE Should City Council authorize the transfer of $30,000 from the Grant Matches (Lottery) Fund into the Capital Improvement Fund for the purpose of establishing a project to repair the Mineral Palace Park pool. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution BACKGROUND The Mineral Palace Park Pool is currently being serviced by a 40 -year old water supply system that has many leaks and much corrosion. The pool is currently losing one million gallons of water per month while in operation. The transfer of funds will allow for the replacement of the recirculating water supply piping and associated surface improvements. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds in the amount of $30,000 shall be transferred from Project No. CPAN17 into Project No. CP0909 — Mineral Palace Pool Repair.
