HomeMy WebLinkAbout11515RESOLUTION NO. 11515 A RESOLUTION COMMITTING $195,000 TO MATCH SENATE BILL 97 -001 STATE FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THREE BUSES FOR THE PROVISION OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SERVICES WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo has appropriated and budgeted $195,000 in the Pueblo Transit 2009 budget to purchase three transit buses as the 20% match of Senate Bill 97 -001 funding BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The City of Pueblo has filed an application with the State Department of Transportation, Division of Transportation Development, for Senate Bill 97 -001 funding for the purchase of three transit buses. SECTION 2. The City of Pueblo hereby commits and obligates $ 195,000 as its local match for the purchase of three transit buses. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution. BACKGROUND The State of Colorado, State Department of Transportation, Division of Transportation Development, has obtained certain unencumbered State funds from the Senate Bill 97- 001 strategic transportation program for the purchase of capital rolling stock for the provision of public transportation. The City of Pueblo has appropriated a total of $195,000 into the Pueblo Transit 2009 budget for the purchase of three buses. FINANCIAL IMPACT The total project cost is $975,000. The state match at 80% is $780,000 and the appropriated City match at 20% is $195,000.
