A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $1,000 FROM THE CONTINGENCIES
ACCOUNT IN THE 2008 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE OUT OF CYCLE REQUESTS TO
FUND THE PUEBLO SUICIDE PREVENTION CENTER'S 40TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER GALA
AND SILENT AUCTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The transfer of $1,000 from the Contingencies Account in the 2008 General Fund budget to
the Out of Cycle Requests Fund is hereby approved.
SECTION 2_
Said funds shall be disbursed from the Out of Cycle Requests Fund to fund the
Pueblo Suicide Prevention Center's 40 Anniversary Dinner Gala and Silent Auction.

ISSUE
Should City Council appropriate $1,000 to fund the Pueblo Suicide Prevention Center's
40 Anniversary Gala and Silent Auction?
BACKGROUND
The Pueblo Suicide Prevention Center is hosting their 40 Anniversary Gala and Silent
Auction on Thursday, October 16, 2008. They are requesting a financial contribution
from the City in the amount of $1,000 to assist with this fundraising event. The Pueblo
Suicide Prevention Center has been serving the greater Pueblo community with support
and counseling for victims, education for community members on how to respond to
threats of suicide, hands -on training, and assistance with area teens through the Teen
Hotline. For the contribution of $1,000, the City will receive a quarter page print ad in
the dinner program and event signage.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the Resolution.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $1,000 will be transferred from the Contingencies Account in the
2008 General Fund Budget (see attached spreadsheet for the balance in the
contingencies account). This resolution anticipates additional funds to be added to the
contingencies account in the mid -year budget ordinance.
