A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,265,502
AND SETTING FORTH $426,550 FOR CONTINGENCIES TO KIEWIT WESTERN COMPANY
FOR THE RUNWAY 8L/26R REHABILITATION PROJECT AT THE PUEBLO MEMORIAL
AIRPORT UNDER FEDERAL AIP PROJECT NO. 3 -08- 0046 -28 AND AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME
WHEREAS, proposals for the Runway 8L/26R rehabilitation project at Pueblo Memorial
Airport have been received and examined; and
WHEREAS, the proposal of Kiewit Western Company was the lowest of those bids
determined to be responsible; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
A contract for the Pueblo Memorial Airport Runway 8L/26R Rehabilitation Project is hereby
awarded to said bidder in the amount of $4,265,502.
SECTION 2.
In addition to the amount of the bid, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is
hereby established for contingencies and additional work.
Contingencies and Additional Work: $426,550
SECTION 3_
Funds for said project shall be expended from Project No. AP0804.
SECTION 4.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of
Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest
the same.

ISSUE
Should City Council award a construction contract for the Runway 8L/26R rehabilitation
at Pueblo Memorial Airport.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
This project consists of rehabilitation to Runway 8L/26R. Two bids were received on
this project with Kiewit Western Company being the low bidder. The project is funded
under a federal grant and a state grant has been accepted that will pay for half of the
City's matching funds.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $4,265,502 plus $426,550 in contingencies shall be paid from
Project AP0804.
