RESOLUTION NO. 11313
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A CLEAN UP PUEBLO ADVISORY AND PLANNING COMMITTEE
FOR THE CITY OF PUEBLO AND APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THIS COMMITTEE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
There is hereby established and created the Clean Up Pueblo Advisory and Planning
Committee (the "Committee ") to serve as an advisory committee to the City Council. The
Committee shall consist of a total of eleven members to serve without compensation. The
presiding municipal judge shall be an ex- officio member of the committee with voting privileges.
The City Council shall appoint eleven (11) the members to the Committee. Six members will be
representatives from the 1) City /County Health Department, 2) the Pueblo Police Department Code
Enforcement Division, 3) the Pueblo Planning and Community Development Code Enforcement
Division, 4) the Pueblo Municipal Court Judge, 5) the Pueblo County Sheriff's Department, and 6)
Pueblo Teen Council; and five members shall be persons who reside within the City of Pueblo.
Members shall be appointed for two -year terms beginning June 10, 2008.
SECTION 2.
The mission of the Committee is to meet with the public and various community
organizations in order to solicit input and prioritize the cleanup efforts within the City.
SECTION 3.
The Committee shall not have regular staff or budget but may request administrative
assistance from the City Manager.
SECTION 4.
The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Clean Up Pueblo Advisory and
Planning Committee to serve a 2 -year term expiring June 9, 2010.

SECTION 5.
This Resolution shall become effective upon final passage and approval and shall
automatically be repealed on June 10, 2012 unless otherwise extended by City Council by
Resolution.

Should the City Council appointment citizens of the community to a Clean Up Pueblo Advisory
and Planning Committee to evaluate, promote and prioritize the clean up needs and efforts
within the City of Pueblo?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the Resolution
BACKGROUND
This Resolution is being prepared at the request of Councilmembers Thurston and Vidmar.
Membership will consist of a total of eleven (11) members and will be appointed by City Council.
Six members will be representatives from the City- County Health Department, the Police
Department Code Enforcement Division, the Municipal Court Judge, the Planning and
Community Development Zoning Enforcement Division, the Pueblo County Sheriffs Department
(Inmate Labor) and the Pueblo Teen Council, and five members shall be Pueblo residents who
reside within the City limits.
Committee members will be required to meet with the public and various organizations as
needed to solicit input and prioritize the cleanup needs and efforts in the City. The Committee
will have a four -year tenure and will sunset on June 1, 2012 unless otherwise extended by the
City Council.
Following an advertisement published in The Pueblo Chieftain on Sunday, May 25, 2008, letters
of interest were received from the following individuals:
