A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FUNDING
FOR THE 2008 MAY MOBILIZATION OF CLICK IT OR TICKET PROJECT, ESTABLISHING
PROJECT NUMBER PD0804, AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS THEREFORE
WHEREAS, the City Council of Pueblo has the authority on behalf of the City of Pueblo,
including its Police Department, to accept funding from the State of Colorado for public and
municipal purposes, and
WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Transportation has tendered 2008 May
Mobilization of Click it or Ticket Project funding that will not exceed the amount of $4,500.00, and
WHEREAS, acceptance of the funding for the purposes for which it has been made is in the
best interest of the City and will benefit the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of the City;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1 _
The Award of the Click it or Ticket Project funding to the City of Pueblo is hereby accepted
and is approved effective as of May 27, 2008.
SECTION 2.
Project Number PD0804, Click It or Ticket, is hereby established in the Police Grants Fund.
SECTION 3.
The amount of $4,500.00 is hereby authorized for transfer from the Projects to be
Determined Account in the Police Grants Fund to Project Number PD0804. Said funds shall only
be expended and used for this Project.

ISSUE
Should the City of Pueblo accept 2008 Colorado Department of Transportation
Click It or Ticket Project funding on behalf of the Police Department not to
exceed the amount of $4,500.00?
The Department recommends approval of the Resolution.
BACKGROUND
This funding will allow the Police Department to increase its enforcement of
Colorado's child passenger safety and seat belt laws and to conduct seat belt
surveys before and after the enforcement period. Focus will be in areas of our
community that have had the highest rate of teen crashes and fatalities.

There is no match required for this grant.
