HomeMy WebLinkAbout11215RESOLUTION NO. 11215 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $461,857.67 TO CORTEZ CONSTRUCTION CO., AND SETTING FORTH $69,278.65 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK, FOR PROJECT NO. 08 -007 (CP0713), FY 2008 MITCHELL SPRAY PARK AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 08 -007 (CP0713), FY 2008 MITCHELL SPRAY PARK have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS, the proposal of Cortez Construction Co., Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1 _ A contract for PROJECT NO. 08 -007 (CP0713), FY 2008 MITCHELL SPRAY PARK be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $461,857.67. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount as stipulated in this section is hereby established for contingencies and additional work. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND In general, this project will consist of the construction of a re- circulating, treated water spray park with ground -spray and surface - mounted water features, equipment room, underground water holding tank, shade structures, 6' chain link fence and concrete sidewalk as specified in the plans and the specifications. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funding for this project will be paid out of Project CP0713 from the following grant: County 1A Ballot Initiative $750,000 Attached is a bid summary showing the results of competitive bids on this project.
