A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $1,350 FROM THE CONTINGENCIES
ACCOUNT IN THE 2008 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE OUT OF CYCLE REQUESTS TO
FUND STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE SANGRE DE CRISTO SCHOOL OF ARTS
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
The transfer of $1,350 from the Contingencies Account in the 2008 General Fund budget
to the Out of Cycle Requests Fund is hereby approved.
SECTION 2.
Said funds shall be disbursed from the Out of Cycle Requests Fund to fund student
scholarships for the Sangre de Cristo School of Arts After School Program.

DE CRISTO SCHOOL OF ARTS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
ISSUE
Should the City Council share funding for ten (10) scholarships with the Sangre de
Cristo Arts Center for the Young at Art After School Program?
BACKGROUND
The staff at the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center has asked if the City
would like to become involved with the Young at Art after school program. This is an
18 -week program that provides 1 — 5"' grade students the opportunity to participate in
classes related to band, choir, drama/theater, art, dance, guitar, and clay. The Arts
Center and the City will provide ten (10) scholarships for students who cannot afford the
tuition of the program at a cost of $270 per student. The total cost for the ten
scholarships is $2,700 with the City paying 50°x6 ($1,350) of this total and the Arts
Center providing the remaining balance ($1,350) of the tuition costs.
RECOMMENDATION
Resolution recommended approval by Council Member Atencio.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds in the amount of $1,350 will be transferred from the Contingencies Account in the
2008 General Fund Budget (see attached spreadsheet for the balance in the
contingencies account).
