Since the promotional campaign began, the Airport and Great Lakes Aviation have experienced a significant increase in passenger traffic. The Airport Advisory Committee has attributed this increase to the efforts of the campaign. In November 2007, Great Lakes Aviation was again awarded the Essential Air Service contract for the next two years. This contract authorizes enhanced changes to the flight schedule that would include an early morning flight and an evening flight that would better accommodate the business traveler. Due to these schedule changes and the recent successes of the air service marketing campaign, the Airport Advisory Committee has requested $25,000 to continue the promotional efforts in 2008. The Committee expects to receive cash contributions from Great Lakes Aviation and Pueblo County as well as in -kind contributions from various businesses that have supported them in the past. RECOMMENDATION Approval of the Resolution. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds in the amount of $25,000 will be transferred from the Contingencies Account in the 2008 General Fund Budget (see attached spreadsheet for the balance in the Contingencies Account).
