HomeMy WebLinkAbout11155RESOLUTION NO. 11155 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO AND HB &A, LLC, FOR PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH THE DESIGN OF REPLACEMENT FIRE STATIONS NO. 4 & NO. 9. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. An Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto, after having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, by and between Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation and HB &A, LLC, is hereby approved. SECTION 2. Funds for said professional services shall be paid from Account Codes PB0602 and P130603. SECTION 3. The President of the City Council is hereby authorized to execute the said Agreement on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. TITLE A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO AND FIB &A, LLC, FOR PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH THE DESIGN OF REPLACEMENT FIRE STATIONS NO. 4 & NO. 9. ISSUE Should the City Council enter into an agreement with HB &A, LLC for the purpose of performing architectural /engineering services for the design of replacement Fire Stations No. 4 & No. 9. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution. BACKGROUND Fire Station Nos. 4 & 9 are antiquated and are in need of replacement. To provide better fire protection coverage and to better serve the needs of the local community these two stations are scheduled to be replaced. Funding for this project was approved by a vote of the registered electors of the City of Pueblo in 2004 as part of the anticipated revenues received from Xcel Energy. Seven proposals were received in response to the Request for Proposals. A committee comprised of representatives from the Fire Department, Public Works, Planning/Land Use, and the City Manager's Office met on two separate occasions to select HB &A, LLC. This contract will provide the architectural /engineering services necessary to design both fire stations. FINANCIAL IMPACT The cost of this service is $228,810.00 and will be paid from account codes PB0602 and PB0603. An additional $21,190.00 is requested for contingencies, for a total of $250,000.00.
