HomeMy WebLinkAbout11140RESOLUTION NO. 11140 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A DEMOLITION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,082 FOR THE DEMOLITION OF 1617 WEST 12 STREET TO DIRT N DEMO AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for Demolition of 1617 WEST 12 STREET have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of Dirt N Demo of Pueblo, Colorado, was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1 A Contract for Demolition of 1617 West 12 Street be, and the same is hereby awarded to Dirt N Demo in the amount of $7,082. SECTION 2 The Purchasing Agent be, and she is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3 Funds for this project shall be paid out of Community Development Block Grant funds, Demolition — Substandard Structures. Should the Cit� Council award a contract for the demolition of the structure located at 1617 West 12" Street. RECOMMENDATION Approval of this Resolution BACKGROUND The structure located on the property at 1617 West 12 °i Street has been determined by the Building Official to be a dangerous building under the provisions of Chapter 13 of Title 4 of the Municipal Code. The Building Official has served the required Notice and Order to repair the structure to the owner of the property, and the property owner has failed to comply within the required time periods. Subsequently, the Building Official has issued a request for the Director of Public Works to demolish the structure. An asbestos inspection of the structure has also been conducted, and no asbestos materials were found at this location. The work was competitively bid through the City's Purchasing Department, and a copy of the bid summary is attached. FINANCIAL IMPACT This demolition contract will be paid from Community Development Block Grant Funds.
