A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF
$7,415.80 TO PARKER EXCAVATING, INC. FOR MANHOLE INSTALLATION, AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME
WHEREAS, installation of a manhole was authorized by the Pueblo City Manager in
support of developing an agreement for stormwater transport; and
WHEREAS the construction work was awarded to Parker Excavating, Inc.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
A contract to install a manhole in an underground pipeline used to convey water from
Minnequa Lake to the Arkansas River, in order to facilitate inspection of the pipeline with Parker
Excavating, Inc. (Project No. SW0601) be, and the same is hereby awarded to said bidder in the
amount of $7,415.80.
SECTION 2.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo,
A Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the
same.
SECTION 3.
Funds for said project shall be from the Stormwater Enterprise Fund.

ISSUE
Should the City Council award a construction contract in the amount of $7,415.80
to Parker Excavating, Inc., for manhole installation?
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of this Resolution.
BACKGROUND
In September 2007, a manhole was installed in an underground pipeline used to
convey water from Minnequa Lake to the Arkansas River, in order to facilitate
inspection of the pipeline. Pipeline inspection was needed to support the
development of an agreement with Rocky Mountain Steel to transport storm
flows through the pipeline.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The emergency repair budget is funded by the Stormwater Enterprise Fund
(Project No. SW0601).
